In case of determining the status of a stateless person in Georgia, a person shall be automatically given a residence permit for stateless person information which shall be indicated in the decision regarding the determination of the status of a stateless person in Georgia.
To persons whose status as a stateless person in Georgia had been determined residence permit shall be issued for a 3-year extension which is permitted for the same duration and same conditions within 10 days from the submission of a respective application. If a term of residence permit for a person having a status of a stateless person in Georgia is extended the grounds for refusing to grant the status of a stateless person are not being checked.
To a stateless person whose Georgian citizenship had been terminated because of renouncing Georgian citizenship or who had been permanently residing in Georgia for 31 March 1993, had not been considered a citizen of Georgia and had not stopped being permanently registered in Georgia since 31 March 1993 residence permit shall be issued permanently.
A stateless person who no longer resides in Georgia is obliged to submit a residence permit to the territorial office of the Public Service Development Agency.
